Ward Personnel expands into German market targeting €50m revenue

Cork-headquartered construction recruitment firm Ward Personnel has announced expansion into Germany as the company targets revenue of €50m in the next two years, recruiting personnel on the ground for Irish construction and mechanical and electrical companies working on large-scale projects in the German market.

Irish Examiner reported that the firm will expand services further into the European market this year, building on its track record supplying skilled workers to construction projects in Denmark since 2019 where it is forecasting significant growth in 2026. The company anticipates continued growing demand for construction workers over the next decade on the domestic front.

David Ward, founder and managing director of Ward Personnel, said as the company celebrates 15 years in business, it is excited about strong opportunities ahead. He noted that whilst current focus is on Denmark and Germany, having established subsidiaries and service teams on the ground in both countries, the next phase of expansion will extend into additional Western European markets.

In 2025, the firm moved to a new group headquarters in Blackrock, County Cork. It also has offices in Dublin, Poland, Denmark and Germany, employing more than 50 staff members who support a workforce of over 650 across client sites.

To help meet demand for workers in Europe and Ireland, the firm recruits skilled workers from Eastern Europe to add to its existing workforce at home and abroad. Ward stated the company's sourcing infrastructure in Eastern Europe, with a dedicated staff team based in its office in Poland, allows access to skilled workers not readily available in Ireland or Western Europe.
