Industry NewsTuath Housing and Evara commence construction on 355 apartments in Adamstown
Approved housing body Tuath Housing and homebuilder Evara have commenced construction on 355 new social and cost rental homes at the Aderrig development in Adamstown, west Dublin, as reported by Dublin Live. The development marks a further addition to the residential construction pipeline in one of Dublin's fastest-growing suburbs, with first homes due for completion in 2027 and the remaining units delivered in 2028.
The scheme comprises 7 studios, 164 one-bedroom apartments and 184 two-bedroom apartments. All homes will be owned and managed by Tuath Housing, with funding provided through a combination of staged payments from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Agency, and the Housing Finance Agency.
The Aderrig site occupies 2.16 hectares and is located within a five-minute walk of Adamstown train station, positioning the development within an established and well-connected community. Adamstown is a designated strategic development zone with planning permissions covering up to 7,500 homes in total, of which approximately 4,800 had been built as of late 2024.
Martin Loughran, chief development and commercial officer of Tuath, said: "This partnership with Evara will support the delivery of 355 high-quality homes in Adamstown, ensuring long-term housing security and affordability for those in need. By working closely with delivery partners and supporting construction, we can accelerate supply while achieving value for money and building sustainable, well-connected communities."
The Adamstown scheme is part of a broader acceleration of Tuath's construction programme. According to Tuath's 2025 Annual Report, the organisation invested €865 million in the acquisition and construction of new homes during 2025, delivering 2,268 homes in the year and bringing its total managed portfolio to approximately 18,000 homes, housing around 42,000 people nationwide.
Evara, one of Ireland's largest private homebuilders, has been an active delivery partner with Tuath across multiple Adamstown schemes. The company recently reached roof level on the nearby 80-unit St Helen's Plaza development, also delivered for Tuath and South Dublin County Council, with completion expected later in 2026.
The Aderrig development adds to a growing pipeline of large-scale apartment schemes advancing through construction in the greater Dublin area, as both public and private sector partners work to address a sustained structural housing deficit. Ireland's Housing Agency has estimated an annual requirement of approximately 50,000 new homes to meet current and projected demand.
