SDG opens Dublin depot to expand Republic of Ireland operations

Armagh-based specialist construction products supplier SDG has opened its first depot in the Republic of Ireland, located in Bluebell, Dublin, alongside Brooks Timber & Building Supplies, marking a significant step in the company's expansion across the island and establishing an operational base at the heart of the country's busiest construction market.

Irish News reported that the SDG Bluebell depot will supply construction accessories, including concrete consumables, formwork solutions and waterproofing systems, alongside pre-cast accessories and specialist technical products, directly to contractors working across Dublin and the wider region. Brooks Timber & Building Supplies is part of the Newry-founded builders' merchants Murdock Group.

Louise Skeath, chief executive at SDG, described the expansion as an important milestone for the company. She said Dublin is experiencing extraordinary growth across commercial, residential and infrastructure sectors, with the Bluebell location allowing SDG to meet that demand with speed, expertise and local presence that brings the business closer to customers.

Skeath added that the expansion into the Republic has been a long-term strategic ambition, with Bluebell representing the perfect base for growth. She noted that combining SDG's specialist knowledge with Brooks' established presence creates a strong platform to deliver enhanced value to customers across the region.

The new depot strengthens SDG's partnership with Brooks Timber & Building Supplies, creating a high-value hub for construction professionals. In August, the Murdock Group confirmed a strategic partnership with SDG to expand its reach into new sectors and regions whilst adding further scale and strength to its operations across Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Founded in 1990 by Seamus Duffy, SDG is a family-owned supplier of specialist construction products to leading construction, civil engineering and precast companies.
