McAleer & Rushe posts record £627.7m turnover as profit surges 37% in 2025

Northern Ireland design and build contractor McAleer & Rushe has reported record turnover of £627.7m for 2025, a 27% year-on-year increase, alongside a 37% rise in profit before tax to £22m. The results reflect the firm's disciplined approach to project selection and sustained demand across its core sectors, including residential, hotel, office and mixed-use development.

The Belfast News Letter reported that the record results were driven by the strength of McAleer & Rushe's long-standing client relationships and consistent operational delivery across its project portfolio.

The firm has also confirmed a strong start to 2026, with £800m in secured contracts, £250m as preferred contractor, and £600m in pre-construction services agreement (PCSA) projects expected to commence on site in 2027. New appointments to the board have also been made to support the company's continued growth trajectory.

Among the schemes underpinning the firm's recent performance is a 300-unit residential development in Greenwich for Knight Dragon and the Drury Works scheme in London, alongside a purpose-built student accommodation project at Crutched Friars in the City of London for Dominus.

McAleer & Rushe said the quality of its pipeline and the strength of relationships built with clients and partners had been central to its performance, adding that the company remains focused on delivering excellence across all of its schemes and building on the progress achieved over the past year.

Northern Ireland's construction output rose 7.3% in the year to June 2025, reaching its highest level since 2010 and outperforming the rest of the UK, according to AECOM's Ireland Annual Review 2026, providing wider context for the sector conditions in which McAleer & Rushe achieved its record results.
