Industry NewsLDA and O'Flynn Group partner to deliver 542 cost rental homes at Southwest Gate Dublin
The Land Development Agency (LDA) and O'Flynn Group have announced a partnership to deliver 542 new A-rated apartments at Southwest Gate, a landmark residential scheme on the Naas Road in Dublin 12, with all units to be made available as cost rental homes. A further 52 social homes will be delivered separately by O'Flynn Group as part of the same phase.
Irish Construction News reported that the 542 homes are being delivered through the LDA's Project Tosaigh homebuilder partnership initiative, under which the LDA provides financial stimulus to enable private homebuilders to construct and complete new homes, with completed units then owned and managed by the LDA.
The Southwest Gate scheme has been masterplanned by O'Flynn Group and, when fully built out, will provide 1,140 new homes alongside a hotel, retail and commercial accommodation, with a further three acres available for future development. The Red Luas line runs past the site, with the M50 and M7 also within easy reach.
The development is located near other major LDA housing projects, including a 383-home scheme at Bluebell Waterways and the recently acquired Royal Liver site on the Naas Road, which has the potential to deliver over 1,200 new homes.
John Coleman, chief executive of the LDA, said: "This is a very welcome partnership between the LDA and O'Flynn Group. It will deliver a total of 542 new homes in a prime location as part of a well-planned, sustainable and larger development that includes new facilities and amenities."
