This award recognises organisations within the construction industry that have created an outstanding workplace culture, where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. The winning organisation will demonstrate a strong commitment to employee wellbeing, engagement, and development, going beyond standard practices to foster a positive and inclusive working environment. Evidence of measurable impact on employee satisfaction, retention, and overall workplace experience will be key. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear strategy and supporting evidence that demonstrates excellence across the criteria outlined below.

  • Organisation Overview and Workplace Culture: Introduce your organisation, outlining your approach to creating a positive and engaging workplace. Demonstrate how your values, culture, and leadership contribute to making your organisation a great place to work.
  • Employee Engagement and Experience: Provide insight into how you measure and improve employee engagement and satisfaction. Include initiatives, feedback mechanisms (e.g. surveys), and how employee voice is embedded into decision-making.
  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing Initiatives: Detail your approach to supporting employee wellbeing, including both physical health & safety, mental wellbeing and access to Counselling. Highlight any initiatives that go beyond compliance and contribute to a healthier workforce. Include Stress risk assessments and Work-Life Balance Initiatives.
  • Learning, Development and Career Progression: Outline your organisation’s investment in employee growth, including training programmes, structured CPD initiatives and events, clear career pathways, mentoring opportunities, and support for progression within the organisation.
  • Measurable Impact and Employee Outcomes: Provide evidence of the success of your workplace initiatives, including data on retention, engagement scores, productivity, or other relevant metrics. Include examples or case studies that demonstrate the positive impact on employees.
