Construction begins on major Scottish wind farm powering 335,000 homes

Work is underway on the £800m Sanquhar II Community Wind Farm, set to become the UK’s fourth-largest onshore project when completed in 2026. The 44-turbine development will generate enough electricity for 335,000 homes, create hundreds of jobs—half of them local—and deliver four decades of regional investment.
