Cardo Group has acquired Aspect Group Services, a Norfolk roofing, renewables and building maintenance contractor, for an undisclosed sum, a deal that shows social housing maintenance groups buying regional roofing and renewables capacity as repairs spending rises.
Cardo Group, a Cardiff-headquartered social housing and public sector maintenance specialist with businesses in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, reported £9.5m (€11.1m) pre-tax profit on £239m (€279.6m) turnover in the year to February 2026 and employed an average of 1,275 staff.
Aspect Group Services, founded in 1972 and headquartered in Wymondham, Norfolk, provides pitched and flat roofing, property maintenance and renewable energy services across private, commercial and public sectors, with turnover of £20.5m (€24m), pre-tax profit of £2.8m (€3.3m) and 65 average staff in the year to April 2026.
It is Cardo’s 17th acquisition and fifth of 2026.
Cardo Group CEO Liam Bevan said Aspect brings highly regarded roofing and building maintenance expertise and a track record as a leading property services provider in East Anglia, while Aspect Managing Director Matt Dillon said the partnership builds on the firm’s heritage with added investment and capability from the wider group.
Knights, a legal and professional services firm, advised Cardo on the acquisition.
The repairs market is the draw: registered providers spent £9.7bn (€11.3bn) on repairs and maintenance in the 12 months to June 2026 and forecast £11.1bn (€13.0bn) over the next 12 months, about 15% higher.
Regulation is adding urgency: a government consultation launched on 8 October 2026 could extend Awaab’s Law from more than four million social homes to around nine million rented, temporary and supported homes, tightening repair timescales and raising demand for inspection, roofing and maintenance work.
Cardo is targeting £500m (€585m) of revenue by 2027, which makes buying established regional contractors a direct route to scale.
For the sector, consolidation of roofing, maintenance and renewables contractors into national groups is accelerating as compliance rules and record landlord spending reward scale, while retained regional brands help preserve the local relationships that win repeat work.
